  • why there is no arc for the plasma cutter?

All machines are fully tested prior to shipment. All DOA are due to shipping damage or improper settings.

Please try the following simple self-checking/experiment before shipping the machine back to our repair center.

    1. Make sure your power plug is properly wired. For 110vac, the green with yellow stripe is ground wire. the brown/red is hot wire, the black is neutral. For 220vac, the green with yellow stripe is ground wire. the brown/red is positive and the black is negative.

     2. Open the cover of the machine and make sure there is no loose/disconnected wires.

    3. Make sure the ground cable is attached to workpiece or to steel table with work piece securely clamped to table. Make sure the ground is good. There is no rust on the workpiece where the groun cable clamp is attached.

    4. Check air compressor operation and make sure input air pressure is at least 100 psi. Check air filter and make sure the operation psi is set to 65 to 75 psi. there is no arc if the air pressure is too high or too low.

    5. Inspect and repair or replace worn torch parts, espeically for nozzle and electrode. If your machine suddenly can not arc, most likely you need to change your nozzle/tip and electrode.

    6. Open the case and adjust the distance between two rectangular electrodes/plates on the bottom board of the cutter. Most of case for "No Arcing" can be resolved by reducing the distance of these two rectangular electrodes (the distance between two plates should be set to around 1 mm). On normal operation, you can clearly see the spark between these two rectangular electrodes.  Look at the following picture for your reference.

    7. For combo machine (ct416D or CT520D, if tig welding is okay, then it could be due to following reason.

    • the relay in middle board (TRANSFORMER BOARD) is damaged. There are two relays on the middle board, if one of them is damaged, there is no output for plasma cutting.

    • the wire which supplys power to relay on middle board is disconnected.

    • the cutting torch is damaged.

    8. If your machine is combo machine. Make sure the function switch is set to the mode of plasma cutting. If there is footpedal switch (a slope sign), you MUST turn off the footpedal switch (set to "0") while you try to use the machine as plasma cutter. Similar for tig welding, you must turn off the footpedal switch if  footpedal is not connected to the machine.

    9.

why my CT520D does not have air flow (gas supply)?

If there's arc striking when tungsten electrode touches workpiece while pressing the trigger of torch, (it means the torch switch is ok)  then the problem  reason is due to wire connections.

    1. Wire is disconnected between pilot socket and torch switch coil

    2. Wire disconnect between torch switch coil to HF board

    3. Wire on torch switch is disconnected

    4. Electromagnetic valve is damaged

    5. Bottom board is damaged

    6. Air regulator is damaged (If only air plasma without gas supply)

most likely it is due to the connection of torch swicth coil.

why my IGBT LTPDC2000 has gas flow issue?

the gas flow issue could be due to following case:1)the foam is sticked into the gas valve, please change  the gas hose from inlet socket to outlet socket and press the handle switch the foamed plastice maybe can flow out from inlet socket.2)please open the cover of machine, please checking the Green LED on the PCB, When pressing the switch and  releasing again,if the green LED is lighted and then off,the problem is due to gas valve,3)please checking as the attachment, the problem maybe due to 1V40(S8050) and Relay.
