  LOTOS 2-in-1 Stapler and Nailer

The Lotos 2-in-1 Flooring Nailer and Cleat Stapler is an essential flooring tool that is made to be both easy-to-use and durable.  Professional flooring installers prefer to use this Nailer
and Stapler to meet their flooring needs. The result of engineering excellence, the 2-in-1  hardwood cleat nailer and stapler shoots both cleat nails and staples without needing to  change magazines. This tool shoots both 15.5 and 16 gauge staples ranging from 1 to 2 inches and “L” cleats ranging from 1-1/2” to 2”; both are held in a magazine capable of holding up to 100 staples or cleats.  The standard-sized staples and cleats are easily obtainable from any hardwood store. The body of the gun, constructed from die-cast alloy, is both durable and lightweight, meeting the needs of contractors and industrial companies. Adding
stability, an extra-wide composite non-marring base plate is used to protect the flooring from
scratching as well as allowing the user to drive fasteners faster and closer to the wall.

The following are some recent Customer Reviews on Lotos LSN3:

I purchased the product scared of how low the price was to comparable products. a great nailer. put my floor down with it and would be able to put many other floors down with it. the tool was made to last. i reccommend this tool for anybody that needs a floor nailer.   – Jake,  Seattle, WA

I have now used this nailer to put down 700 sq ft of hardwood flooring in my daughter's house in Hawaii. It worked perfectly with only one adjustment needed on my part. The single adjustment was adding a thin shim to the floor plate to make the staples hit the correct spot at the base of the tongue in the 1/2 inch thick flooring. the included manual was very close on the actual air pressure settings needed and had a section on how to clear a jammed staple which we needed to do twice. The cost of the tool plus shipping to Hawaii was less than the rental cost of a floor nailer in Honolulu for 4 days and we can resell the tool afterward. What a great way to spend the winter months of New Hampshire away from the snow and ice, laying hardwood floor.  --Ed, Chicago, IL

I laid 260 square feet of floor and never had one problem. The nailer worked great and was easy to use. I could have rented, but by the time I would have finished the floor, I would have paid for the gun. Now I can do the dining room and living room floors with no additional cost.

Like so many people here, I was turned off by the $350+ price of the name brand pneumatic floor nailers/staplers and saw the many good reviews on this unit. I was very hesitant to buy off brand but decided to give it a try and am now very happy that I did.  I just finished a 200sf room using this as a stapler and it was nearly flawless. I had one misfire when it got to the end of the staples but it did not damage anything. Another time I realized that I was having issues was after I had swapped tools which required adjusting the air pressure. When I adjusted back I apparently was a little higher on the pressure than before and it was crushing the wood a bit. Readjusted back down and it worked perfectly again. Notes:  Used the recommended Bostitch staples with great success.
Stay on the low side of the recommended working pressure, and it is still plenty powerful.
Also, although it never caused an issue before I did it, I followed others suggestions and used two layers of duct tape on the 3/4 base for Bruce flooring so as not to have the nozzle catch the tongue.
Not sure if they upgraded or reworked or if I got lucky but many reviews complained about the mallet coming apart and my mallet survived my project in tact and I did not go easy on it.

I know for the price and based on the time I was using it around my job and life, it was much cheaper than renting it from anywhere and it worked very well for me. I cannot vouch for long term use but if you want to justify the purchase to redo a room or two, I would definitely highly recommend this unit.

As a professional installer I was alittle leary of such a "bargain priced" product. I am normally a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I just finished installing 600 sq ft of Bamboo. I used some staples and cleats just to see how easy this gun could use each. This gun fired EVERY staple and cleat to perfect depth every time. I had the pressure set at 80# and not one misfire or fail. Like some of the other reviewers on this product I had to shim the base plate some for proper allignment for staple/cleat placement. To say the least I was very satisfied with my purchase of this gun and would recommend this product to anyone. I am not employed by nor afiliated/associated with Lotos in any way shape or form, i am not a professional reviewer like some, I did not and will not receive any compensation in any form for this review. This is 100% my opinion and truthfull to my experience."

" I'm 300 sq ft into a 650 sq ft project. We are doing 5/8 engineered hardwood. The flooring looks great! This tool is built quite stout and is very easy to use. As long as you tap it with just a bit of effort it will power the nail in flush... a light tap and you will be on your knees fixing it. That is not to say you have to hammer it to get it to work... I'm saying that modest swipes get it done right every strike. I started at 90psi, but moved to 95 psi and haven't looked back. It doesn't scuff the floor and came with two different floor plates for four different thicknesses. I have been using 2" bostitch L nails. Holding strong and tight even on an old old sub floor from the 60's. I had my doubts about the subfloor, but these nails and tool are putting them in good and strong.

If I had to complain I would say that loading the nails is fine with one caveat. Getting the sliding cover back down over the strip of nails requires some fiddling and feels like the weakest part of the gun. If I had to guess where this will fail, in the end, I would have to say that something in this area will give. The nailer comes with a package of all the rubber O rings so even if they fail it should be simple, with the included instructions, on how to replace them. I experienced no leaks or hisses when I started with the gun (despite forgetting to add the included oil drops) and when I realized I had forgot the next day I added a couple drops and still feels like it is ready for more work! With that 1 caveat I still believe this is one of the best bang for your buck tools I've come across. I'm using this with a small duty Makita Mac700 compressor and getting about 7 or 8 nails before it starts up and refills to keep pressure up. I have yet to have to wait for the compressor as I get a set of boards ready and even if I keep nailing past 10 or 12 nails, they are still going in flush; both seem very efficient.

The gun looks like a bad boy. Very well built. Good looking. Easy grip rubber handle (so grippy it started my hand off raw, but they are becoming nice callus's so still good). Nothing leaks. Nails go in flush. Efficient use of air. Helps pull boards even tighter. The rubber mallet I've received seems to be constructed as I would expect; solidly! I've heard complaints about this, but mine was more than fine.

For the curious and inexperienced, this is what you need to make this tool work. Get a compressor that can handle over 90psi, get a 3/8" air hose of 25 or better 50', get 1/4" couplers for either end of the hose, and some L nails for flooring or flooring staples. 2" are working for me, but if you've got new plywood subfloors you may consider 1 1/2" and a bit more pressure. These are the things you need just to get nails into the floor. You will need the tar or rosin paper, chalk box and chalk, tape measure, pencil and/or sharpie, nail set, some nails for face nailing the first 2 rows, color matched putty to cover the first row of face nail holes, compound miter saw and/or 5 1/4, 6 1/2 or 7 1/4 worm drive saw (unless left handed then a right side circular saw will work) pry bar, nail set, jig saw and perhaps a few other little tools here and there. voila, you are set to become a flooring grunt! Your back and hands are going to hurt if you don't make the effort to keep your back straight and don't wear some work gloves"
